3 Online Sales Tips For Network Marketers in the Military ? Deanna ...

Team Go To It Earn While You Learn 3 Online Sales Tips For Network Marketers in the Military

Good Morning Active duty military, Veterans and Military Spouses:

There are a great many members of the military community that are building businesses in the direct sales industry. ?Tuesdays are the days that I blog about business building tips that are just for you. ?Today?s topic is online sales tips for your direct sales business.

If you have missed these posts in the past, I?ll give you the links to them right here, just to make it convenient:

What?s the key to getting more than 48% Buyers on Your Opt-in List?

Are You Cutting Your Teeth Network Marketing on the Internet?

How To Generate Leads for Your Home Based Business Opportunity

Understanding Advertising for Your Home Based Business Opportunity

And, now today?s article:

The 21st century and the global recession have actually put the cat among the pigeons where small businesses are concerned, the direct sales industry included, however, there are plenty of straightforward no-cost and cheap solutions for small businesses to use to maintain and even increase market share.

As small shops and direct sellers find they can?t vie with giant conglomerates they inevitably fail, unless they can offer more to their customers. This is done by smart promoting and offering value and a better experience to the shopper.?So, what is the solution for direct seller to stay in this strong competition?

To sell products successfully, you have to be an expert and unique in what you do and provide best client services to attract and retain customers.?Those are just 3 of the things that gigantic box stores don?t offer: uniqueness, experience and buyer service.?It is surprising to discover that many direct sellers do not maximize the use of their replicated website. ??Here are three tips to maximize your company?s replicated website to sell more products:

  • 1. ?Purchase a domain name, such as your own name at Godaddy.com and forward that name to your company?s replicated website. ?People are looking to buy from YOU, not your company. ?Step by step instructions on how to do this are included on the site.
  • 2. ?Optimize your profile on the replicated website using words that your group of friends, customers and partners will recognize. ?For example, if you are marketing on a base and hoping to assist military families to make more money with your opportunity: ??I?m an USAF Military Spouse who loves to help other military spouses?..?
  • 3. ?Maintain your own list of customers, not just the one on the company website. ?Just in case. ?Network Marketing company?s go under all the time and you want to keep your own Rolodex of past customers, just in case. ?I suggest using an auto-responder service such as Mail Chimp, Constant Contact or aWeber. ?Remember, if they are in the company?s database, they belong to the company, not to YOU.

Bonus tip: ?If you are in the Direct Sales Industry, brand yourself, not your opportunity. ?People want to buy from a person, not a title. Not to mention, should you choose to change companies, which happens frequently, you will have to build your brand from scratch! Who wants to do all that re-work?

If you?ve found these tips helpful, please leave me a comment on the blog. ?I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a prosperous week!

Gwyneth Paltrow 'believes that the English education ... - Celebitchy

Last year around this time, there were UK sources claiming that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were preparing to move their family to LA. The claim was that Gwyneth was homesick and that she wanted to be closer to her mom and her brother Jake. Well, Goop and Chris DID buy a new home in LA, although they?ve spent much of the last year in London, like always. Now The Mail is reporting again that Goop wants to move her kids to LA so they can spend a few years getting an American education? but sources say Goop definitely wants Apple and Moses to go to high school/prep school in England because American schools are too peasanty. Basically.

She has lived in London for a decade and calls it her ?adopted home?, but Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow is moving her family back to Los Angeles. The 40-year-old actress and her rock-star husband Chris Martin of Coldplay plan to make LA their home for at least the next two years. The family will move in time for their children Apple, nine, and Moses, seven, to start the school term in September.

A source said: ?Gwyneth has loved living in London but America will always be home and she wants to be closer to her family. Her mother and brother live in California and she plans to spend the next couple of years in Los Angeles while her children are young enough for their education not to be affected. She misses her family terribly and now is the time to move.?

?Her children have English accents and once they start senior school Gwyneth says the family will likely return to the UK because she believes that the English education system is second to none.?

Rumours have been rife for months that the family was planning to move back to California after they forked out ?6.6 million on an opulent new home in a private Hollywood Hills estate. The 8,000 square-foot house in the exclusive Brentwood area is the most expensive in the couple?s property empire which includes their ?4.6 million home in North London, a ?3.2 million penthouse flat in New York and a ?3.4 million house in the Hamptons near New York.

Designed by renowned US architect Windsor Smith the home has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a separate stable block. Paltrow, famed for her eco-friendly ways, even had an entrance hall made with stones recovered from a Peruvian schoolhouse.

Friends say Gwyneth longs to spend more time with her 70-year-old widowed mother Blythe Danner and her director brother Jake as well as friends like godfather Steven Spielberg: ?Gwyneth misses her family terribly and while she has grown to love London and her children have English accents, now is the time to move. The kids have said goodbye to their school friends and they are having a final European holiday before the big move.?

[From The Mail]

Granted, I had an American public school education and my mother is a public school teacher, so I have a bias about people disrespecting American education out of hand. I?m not saying that the American public school education isn?t broken in some cities, in some counties, or in some states, but I just think it?s wrong and unfair to dismiss the American education system out of hand. But beyond that, it?s not like Gwyneth is going to be sending her kids to public high school in America or England either way ? they?re going to be going to private schools, no matter what. And if she?s interested in having a debate about which country has the best PRIVATE schools? well, then I?ve got nothing. I have no idea. But I would be interested in seeing Moses Martin at Eton with all of the sons of dukes and earls and MPs. That would be interesting.

Poll: NYC Democrats believe Weiner should drop mayoral bid

A majority of New York City Democrats say they believe Anthony Weiner should drop his bid for mayor in the aftermath of a sexting scandal that has overtaken his campaign.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Monday found that 53 percent of likely Democratic voters think Weiner should exit the race, while 40 percent say he should stay in.

The survey, conducted after last Tuesday, when Weiner admitted he had continued to send sexual messages to women he met online even after he left Congress, found the ex-lawmaker had fallen to fourth place in the Democratic race for mayor ? just weeks after he was the poll?s front-runner.

According to the new survey, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn leads among likely Democratic voters with 27 percent support. She's followed by Public Advocate Bill de Blasio at 21 percent, former Comptroller Bill Thompson at 20 percent and Weiner at 16 percent.

Comptroller John Liu has 6 percent in the poll, while former City Council member Sal Albanese registered at just 2 percent.

Seven percent of voters remain undecided ahead of the Sept. 10 primary. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percentage points.

Weiner has repeatedly insisted he will not drop out of the race, but virtually every campaign event he?s held over the last week has been overshadowed by the sexting controversy.

According to the poll, a similar percentage of female and male voters say Weiner needs to quit the race ? 54 percent of women say he should go, compared with 52 percent of men.

But there is a significant racial gap. According to Quinnipiac, 53 percent of black voters say Weiner should stay in the race, compared to 64 percent of white voters who think he should quit.

But the poll suggests that none of Weiner?s rivals would see a major boost if he were to end his campaign. Quinn?s standing would increase to 30 percent, compared with 25 percent each for Thompson and de Blasio. The winning candidate has to reach 40 percent support in the Sept. 10 primary to avoid an Oct. 1 runoff election.

Mysterious Dancing Lights In Afghanistan

Sgt. Mike MacLeod/U.S. Army

This isn't a painting. It's not from a movie. It's not a strange astronomical event. This is real ? what you can see when certain helicopters in Afghanistan touch down on sandy ground, raising dust, causing mysterious arcs of light to loop and dance through the air.

This doesn't always happen. "The halos usually disappear as the rotors change pitch," wrote war photographer Michael Yon. "On some nights, on this very same landing zone, no halos form." How come?

Almost certainly the helicopter's blades have a role. The light seems to follow their path.

The dust clearly matters. Michael heard from a pilot, who thought the loops are "static electricity created by friction." The helicopter's blades, the pilot said, are covered with a protective sheath of titanium and nickel. The air is filled with floating dust. Maybe when these different minerals slam into each other, the electrostatic charges become excessive and they spark.

Maybe, Michael thought, but whatever causes this, it ought to have a name. And because he could, because most of these are his pictures, he decided to dub these lights "The Kopp-Etchells Effect." That's the name he put on his blog post in 2009 when he first posted these shots. Curiously, (and to me, very happily), the name is beginning to catch on. There's now a Wikipedia reference to it. Some science bloggers call it that, so who, I wondered, are Kopp and Etchells? Are they physicists?

They aren't. Or weren't. They are, both of them, soldiers.

Corporal Benjamin Kopp was shot in 2009 during a battle in Afghanistan and died of his wounds just over a week later. He was 21. He'd had already served for three tours and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Because he had put himself down as an organ donor, his heart was quickly transplanted into a 57-year-old Illinois woman named Judy Meikle, who told The Washington Post, "How can you have a better heart? I have the heart of a 21-year-old Army Ranger war hero beating in me." Other organs went to other recipients.

Joseph Etchells was also a corporal, but in a different army. He was a fusilier in a British regiment, also assigned to Helmand Province. He was 22 and died the same week as Benjamin Kopp. This was also his third tour of duty, and he was killed by a roadside bomb.

Photographer Michael Yon attended his battlefield funeral, a small affair where fellow soldiers removed the colorful feathers they wear in their caps and tossed them onto the Helmand River, "the same waters where 'Etch' used to swim after missions." At the ceremony, Michael was told that Cpl. Etchells had wanted to be cremated, "then loaded into a firework and launched over the park where he used to play as a kid." As nutty as it sounds, his friends say that was his choice. I checked the Manchester papers. There was a funeral. Thousands gathered at the church, so many they had to set up speakers for those who couldn't fit in. But there were no "fireworks" ...

... which may be one reason to be smiling all these four years later. Because, thanks to Michael Yon's labeling all his pictures and postings with their names, Kopp and Etchells may now get a second round as dancing bits of air.

This connection is, I know, entirely arbitrary. Neither man was a pilot. They certainly weren't scientists. For all we know, they may never have seen the loops of light that carry their names. This is, simply, a gesture, a salute, from a civilian photographer who wanted to honor the memories of two men he never knew, who died in Afghanistan, as he wrote, "Ben on the 18th, Joe on the 19th of July in the year 2009," whose names he found, "listed consecutively in a roster," whose fates, he decided, were "already linked up," so why not? Why not attach them to a lighting effect that was getting public attention? At the very least, it keeps their names on our lips, even for totally bogus reasons. "Knowing combat soldiers," he writes, "it's easy to imagine them laughing away at the idea."

Do I care that this salute is spun out of air? No, I don't. The air doesn't care. Nature doesn't need names. We, sometimes, do. And for a young guy who wanted his ashes launched over his old neighborhood park and for a guy whose heart still beats on in the chest of a Illinois woman, I think the salute more than fits.

Bloggers and TV reporters may have adopted the "Kopp-Etchell," but will the scientists follow? We will have to see. Helicopter pilots who know this effect used to call it "St. Elmo's Fire." Physicists sometimes call it the "piezoelectric effect" which describes how crystals (think Afghani sand), if hit by a hard blade, can produces high concentrations of electrostatic fields that "discharge," or spark.

Just recently, physics blogger Kyle Hill weighed in with his own theory, that it's not sand, but itty bits of helicopter blade dust that are igniting, kind of like a car "dragging a sparkling muffler along the road."

Whatever causes those loops of light, some science journal will have to use the name, and I'm not sure that's happened yet. Maybe because we haven't fully explained what's going on. But if and when we do, I'd hope the scientists who figure it out stand down and let the soldiers have the honor.

Michael Yon says some structures and identifiable bits of landscape were retouched to disguise their geographic location, for security purposes. The loops of light, however, are quite real and appear as he shot them.

Living longer, living healthier: People are remaining healthier later in life

[unable to retrieve full-text content]Based on data collected between 1991 and 2009 from almost 90,000 individuals who responded to the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey, scientists say that, even as life expectancy has increased over the past two decades, people have become increasingly healthier later in life.

All-Empire Large School Baseball: Big decision looms for Casa?s Christy

By PHIL BARBER
THE PRESS DEMOCRAT

Casa Grande senior Francis Christy (Crista Jeremiason / The Press Democrat)

Casa Grande senior Francis Christy (Crista Jeremiason / The Press Democrat)

Take a look at our All-Empire first team, and the point becomes crystal clear: This was the Year of the Pitcher in large school baseball, with arms dominating both the North Bay League and Sonoma County League.

But someone had to catch those pitchers. And occasionally, someone had to hit them. No one did those things better than Casa Grande catcher Francis Christy, our All-Empire Player of the Year.

?All that talent Casa had, he was probably the glue that kept it together,? Maria Carrillo coach Derek DeBenedetti said. ?You couldn?t run on them. Because of his arm, it limited your options trying to move runners over. Obviously, he had the most power in the league as a hitter. He was just a tough out.?

Yes, Christy has it all ? which might explain the steady stream of MLB and college scouts who made their way to the Gauchos? games this year. At least one of them was mightily impressed; the Oakland A?s selected Christy in the 37th round of the amateur draft.

That has presented Christy, a lifelong A?s fan, with yet another difficult decision: enter the Oakland minor-league system, or play at the University of Oregon on a 75-percent scholarship. He has until Aug. 15 to decide.

This is not Christy?s first baseball-related dilemma. A year ago, Oregon offered him a 100-percent scholarship ? if he were willing to get his GED, leave high school a half-year early and play for the Ducks in 2013.

Christy delighted Casa Grande sports fans and chose to remain on campus. It would be hard to argue with his choice after the season the Gauchos had. They dominated their first year in the NBL, going 13-1 in league and 27-3 overall, and securing the top seed in the North Coast Section Division 2 playoffs before falling to Campolindo in the championship game.

That sort of season didn?t seem to be in the cards at the outset.

?We lost Kevin George, our No.1 pitcher, on the first day of the season, and we didn?t lose again for more than two months,? Casa Grande coach Paul Maytorena said. ?A lot of that had to do with (Christy?s) leadership.?

Christy led the Gauchos in batting average (.423), hits (41) and runs (30), and tied for the team lead with 19 RBIs. He hit all six of the Gauchos? home runs in 2013.

?We knew how to pitch to him, but he?ll hit a good pitch,? Cardinal Newman coach T.J. McMahon said. ?One game against us he was 0-for-3, and the fourth time up, he just kind of barreled it and hit a double away.?

And athletic? How many 6-foot-2, 220-pound catchers bat leadoff and steal 11 bases?

?He?s pretty fast, but really it?s just instincts,? Maytorena said. ?Runners on first base and third base, he?ll score from third if you throw to second. Anytime he?s between the stripes, he puts pressure on you.?

Donning the gear only increases Christy?s value at the next level (whatever that happens to be). He?s a good defensive catcher, and his arm is not to be trifled with. The kid is durable, too.

?He caught every inning of every game this year,? Maytorena said. ?And he put up numbers when he had to. It was a testament to his hard work. He made it real enjoyable.?

Family Tree Frog: Sentimental Sunday

This photo is really me clutching at straws.

My family tree software program - Family Tree Maker - has this neat thing where I can see what anniversaries family history wise are coming up or have just been.

Friday was my grand-aunt's 120th birthday.

I had quite a few grand aunts on both sides of the family but I really only knew one - my paternal grandmother's sister Rene.

But this grand aunt - still on my paternal side - was one of my grandfather's sisters - Constance Nellie Morrison (nee Conner).

I don't know much about my father's aunts and we don't seem to have any photos of them - that I can find at any rate. ?

The photo here is of their mother - Mrs Eleanor Conner with Mrs MacDougal (don't know who she was) and my grandparents, Ethel and Edwin Conner and John Morrison - Constance's son. ?

I don't have any certificates for Constance or her sister Lillian. ?The information I have has been gleaned from websites like Ancestry, Trove or the Ryerson Index.?? Constance was the eldest of the three children. ?If I wanted to order her birth certificate I would just have to quote 2b 444 for Quarter 3 in 1893 from the GRO. ?I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know how I've got the date as 26 July. ?Maybe someone in the family knew her birthday. ? Anyway, in the 1901 Census, Constance is living at 32 Connaught Road Portsmouth with her mother, Eleanor Conner aged 26. ?Constance is 7. ?Her younger sister Lilian is 3 and her baby brother Edwin Arthur is 9 months old. ?Edwin Senior is not listed as being there. ?There is a boarder hower, an Irishman called Gerald McCombie - a liuetenant in the Royal Navy. In the 1911 Census, Constance is listed as single, a music teacher aged 17 and is still living at home with her mother, her younger sister and brother who are both still at school. ?Now there are two boarders - a William Lowes, aged 25 - an engine fitter from Newcastle and Thomas Miller - aged 27 - also an engine fitter from Shouth Shields. ?They are living at 140 Chichester Road North End.

A couple of weeks ago I found Edwin Senior on the 1911 Census in China with the Royal Navy!

In 1912 the family emigrated to Melbourne, Australia.

Williamstown Chronicle Saturday 12 September 1914
Poor Eleanor, it seems ,got taken for a ride, as it were, by an enterprising scoundrel from Queensland who was purportedly looking for accommodation. ?We learn from this article that her daughter had had appendicitis - ?hence her empathy for the man who claimed to have recently suffered from the same complaint. ?Which daughter I wonder? ?We also learn that they had a dog. ?She lost three sovereigns - I think that is equivalent to 3 pounds - which in those days was probably worth quite a bit. ??

The following year, we read on 26 August in the Werribee Shire Banner that Miss Constance Conner (piano) and others including her sister Lilian and a certain?Mr C.H. Morrison (mandoline) were to contribute to a programme for a "welcome home" to Sergeant Newland to be held at Laverton. ?An article a couple of months before tells us that Sergeant Newland is "the eldest son of Mr W Newland of Laverton and the second son to receive injuries at the Dardenelles. ?The wounded soldier is considered to be the most enthusiastic volunteer who has left these shores, his enthusiasm knew no bounds He was one of the first to volunteer on the outbreak of hostilities and left with the second contingent. ?and he is the right man to make light of his wounds." ?The paper was also pleased to report the installation of electric light at the Werribee Mechanics Institute which helped dancers trip "the light fantastic" that night.

What does a mandolin look like?

Like this!

Constance and Claude Henry Morrison - the mandoline player - were married in Victoria in 1918. ?Claude lived in Williamstown North at 20 Rennie Street and was a dental mechanic. ?I am guessing that Elizabeth and George Alfred who were living there too, were his parents. ?And yes, when I check the birth records - this is the case. ?Claude was born in Williamstown in 1892. ?George, Claude's father, ?was a striker. ?I think that means Blacksmith's Assistant or harpoon man on a whaler according to this website here.? By the following year, Claude is a dentist and they are living at Lockhart Street, Caulfield.

The Conners and the Morrisons eventually move to Sydney.

The Morrisons live at Vaucluse for many years.

I think they had three children: Joyce, Jackie and John. ?At least that is what my father can remember. ?

At some stage the Morrisons and the Webbs moved to the Blue Mountains, like Edwin Junior and his family. ?I'm thinking that it was probably in the mid 1960s as they are on the electoral roll at Vaucluse up until 1963.

Edwin Junior, Constance and Lilian's younger brother and my grandfather, ?died 30 May 1960 at Springwood aged 59.

According to the Ryerson Index, Claude, Constance's husband departed this mortal coil 16 August 1972 at Valley Heights, aged 80. ?

Then Thomas, Lilian's husband, died 17 October 1974.

Lilian died 15 June 1983 at Springwood aged 86 and then finally Constance on 10 August 1987 at the grand old age of 94. ?

Constance is described as "late of Wahroonga, formerly of Springwood and Vaucluse so she must have moved sometime after 1980 as she was still on the electoral roll in Springwood then.

So - no photos of the two sisters - just their mother and a son. ?But a picture of sorts has been constructed using electoral rolls, newspapers and other indexes.

CDMA Monitoring System / Your cell phone call can be heard !

CDMA Monitoring System

The Cellular Monitoring CDMA Intercept will monitor, record, and play back intercepted conversations from a CDMA cellular phone network. Our CDMA Cellular Monitor or Cellular Interceptor is designed for law enforcement and government agencies to monitor and store intercepted cellular phone conversations of possible criminals, insurgents, terrorists, and those who commit espionage.

Cellular interceptors such as our Cellular Monitoring CDMA Intercept also functions as an SMS Intercept, able to capture SMS (short message service) data. This CDMA Intercept is a passive system, meaning no signal is transmitted from the cellular monitoring system.

In addition, the CDMA Intercept has no effect on cellular communication between the cellular phone handset and the cellular service provider. Because our CDMA Cellular Interceptors operate on a passive level, the cell phone network receives no electromagnetic interference. This cellular intercept system operates by automatically detecting the strongest signal in a CDMA service area. Working as a mobile phone intercept on global CDMA networks, the CDMA Cellular Monitor also intercepts control channels and both sides of a conversation through traffic channels.

For more information on the Cellular Monitoring CDMA Intercept, Click Here to request access to technical data and research material.

ERIC CANTOR / Cantor is the only Jewish Republican in the United States Congress.

As of December 2010, Cantor is the only Jewish Republican in the United States Congress.[2][11][20]
Cantor stated that a ?stronger U.S.-Israel relationship? remains a top priority for him and that he would be ?very outspoken? if Obama "did anything to undermine those ties."[11][24] He supports strong United States-Israel relations.[2][6]
In October 2008, Cantor advocated and voted for the TARP program which aided distressed banks.[29 ]
Shortly after the 2010 midterm elections, Cantor met privately with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, just before Netanyahu was to meet with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to Cantor's office, he "stressed that the new Republican majority will serve as a check on the Administration" and "made clear that the Republican majority understands the special relationship between Israel and the United States."[25]

ERIC CANTOR
Campaign office incident

After the passage of the health care reform bill in March 2010, Cantor reported that somebody had shot a bullet through a window of his campaign office in Richmond, Virginia. A spokesman for the Richmond Police later stated that the bullet was not intentionally fired at Cantor's office, saying that it was instead random gunfire, as there were no signs outside the office identifying the office as being Cantor's.[16] A preliminary investigation indicated that the bullet was fired into the air and hit the office window going down. The bullet landed within a foot of the window.[17] Cantor responded to this by saying that Democratic leaders in the House should stop "dangerously fanning the flames" by blaming Republicans for threats against House Democrats who voted for the health care legislation.[18]

He voted against raising the minimum wage to US$ 7.25 in 2007.

Cantor also reported that he had received threatening e-mails related to the passage of the bill, but he declined to hand over copies of the e-mails, saying that doing so would encourage similar activity.[19]

The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), the largest federation of trade unions in the United States, rates Cantor 0%, indicating an anti-Union voting record.

True statement: concerning ."AVCA" listed on nasdaq, DIVERSICARE and nursing homes in my area

To ParkView Care Center owned or run by Diversicare management services home office located in Tennessee.
Neglect and abuse was present at the time i had my elderly father admitted as a resident in the Park view care center nursing home located in Paris Texas.
"Just imagine", if you where sick with some thing and you continued to get worse as the days went by how long would you stick it out before you went to see the doctor 2 days , 3days, 4days, 5 days , . The first month my elderly father was a resident in ParkView Care Center owned or run by [Diversicare management Services home office located in Tennessee] he went 23 days before one of the day nurse's decide he needed to be taken to the hospital.
I had been harping to nurse's about my elderly fathers condition every day before he was sent to hospital by ambulance[ I WAS IGNORED] .
To make a true and factual statement about 3 of the nursing homes i had my elderly father in ,i noticed one thing in common with all of the three nursing homes . The staff are friendly to family members when they are on the sight of the nursing home. If a family member makes a special effort like being at the nursing home every day 7 days a week for extended periods of time. The staff and the employees become paranoid about your presents, reason they get paranoid is they become lax and complacent in their duties and tend to set around and do nothing when ever they get the chance.

The following statement happened to me at ParkView Care Center located in Paris Texas. I had a female nurse make special effort to confront me for about three days in a row when i walked into to check on my elderly father, this nurse would walk up to me as i entered the ParkView Care Center nursing home and she ask me --(DONT YOU HAVE A JOB YOU NEED TO GO TOO ) this nurse was i assume trying to intimidate me i guess .
I was offended by this statement but said nothing at the time . The red headed female nurse did this the following 2 days as i went to visit my elderly father.
This kinda of behavior leads me to think that they [ OF COURSE I'M SURE THEY WOULDN'T ADMIT TO THIS THOUGH ] ' where trying to get me to stop my regular visits. [ GOD FOR BID I WOULDN'T WON'T TO INTERFERE WITH THE FOLKS CHAIR AND RELAXATION TIME, IF YOU CATCH MY DRIFT. ]
I myself have seen bed alarms at PARK VIEW CARE CENTER NURSING HOME go off beeping for 2 to 3 hours at a time from the elderly residence rooms ,which needed a nurse to check on them .The third shift was the worse! On regular occasion's the residence bed alarms would be ignored by the nurse's at the nurse's station for periods from 1hour up to 3 hours at a time. [ Good God where is the compassion , these people should be ashamed of their selves.] ,One night i was up late with my elderly father watching television in the front of the building .
I heard the night nurse scream at the top of her voice at one of the elderly female residence's. The night nurse jumped up from her chair [ setting down imagine that ] and trotted from behind the nurse's station the whole time screaming at the top of her voice at the elderly woman , as the nurse got close enough to the chair which the elderly woman set in , the nurse grabbed both arms of the elderly residents chair and the nurse placed her face about 2 inches from the elderly resident face screaming as loud as she could at the elderly resident, for spitting on the floor. The poor old lady had Parkinson's .
The elderly woman didn't realize where she was, the elderly lady was handicapped. The night nurse must have lost her mind . [scared the holy hell out of the old lady]. The nurse did not know i was up front with my elderly father watching television late in the evening when this event happened. Once the night nurse noticed me watching what she was doing , she quickly walked back to her chair behind her official nurse's station. The night nurse scared the old lady so bad the elderly woman did not say anything verbally out loud to anyone the whole time that i noticed while i was visiting at this nursing home and i was there 7 days a week 5 to 8 hours a day.

One thing i will not forget is the bed alarms which go off at night from the elderly residents rooms . The nurse's on the night shift set at the nurse's station and ignore the loud beeping alarms and the flashing lights. [good god this is pitiful] this was a regular thing on the late shift for the most part .
The most upsetting thing i happen to witness once was an elderly resident go code blue [ stop breathing ] one night . The young nurse on duty ran from the room to the phone to call the doctor on the phone [she said the doctor would not answer the page] then she gave up on trying to reach the doctor she then called her head nurse at home [this all happened about 9:45pm at night] .
Mean while the elderly resident has gone with out breathing for about 9 or 10 minutes at this point, the head nurse told the young nurse on duty to call 911 and get the EMS guys to try to revive him . She then called 911 the EMS guys took about 6 minutes to arrive . Point of this story is the elderly man coded blue and went about 14 too 15 minutes with out any attempt to revive him ,while i stood watching all this [I thought to myself good god is this the way you do things] 14 too 15 minutes is way too dam long to let an elderly person go before you attempt to revive him.
[ This code blue happened at LEGENDS NURSING HOME in Paris Texas ]. The things which go on in nursing homes is ungodly i could write a small book but i will keep the rest of this to my self for now.

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THIS TO ANYONE READING THIS, IF YOU HAVE FAMILY THAT YOU TRULY LOVE AND ARE CONCERNED ABOUT ,"DO NOT" FULLY TRUST STRANGERS TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONES . One last note PARK VIEW CARE CENTER IN Paris Texas should be closed down . One more thing if your loved one dies while in the care of the Park view care center be prepared for a complete change in the way the staff at this facility talk with you and treat you if you return to discuss pro rated billing [ which means they try to stiff you with back dated charges] or to visit other residents at this nursing home .
The staff becomes real real paranoid and unfriendly . I even had the janitor walk up to me and with a condescending smile get in my face and he said [ don't make me have to throw you out of here] ""WHAT A DUM ASS THIS GUY WAS"".
I was always polite with all employees at this nursing home in fear that my elderly father might be treated badly in retaliation if i had made someone mad. I will post more about the Paris Texas Nursing homes in my area in coming articles . I WRITE THESE ARTICLES FROM MY EYE WITNESS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE ELDERLY AND THE HANDICAPPED PEOPLE, WHO NEED ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET BECAUSE THE ELDERLY FOR THE MOST PART ARE HELPLESS AND NEED THE YOUNGER PEOPLE TO GET THERE ASS IN GEAR AND HELP OUT NOT LOOK FOR A EASY WAY OUT .

"FOR PROFIT " HEALTH CARE IS DEEPLY FLAWED AND NEEDS A SEVERE CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. AFTER GOING THROUGH THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM WITH MY ELDERLY FATHER I HAVE LEARNED A LESSON I WILL REMEMBER THE REST OF MY LIVING DAYS . ""ITS A DAM SHAME "" to be continued ------------ call this PART #1

Church of Scotland defends its role in education

To those who care deeply for our education system, let me take this opportunity to say to everyone: thank you.

I have been disappointed by some of the arguments deployed against the role of faith in education in recent days. It is bizarre to suggest that religion and reason are incompatible. It is false to claim that the majority of citizens deny the existence of God. The no doubt tongue-in-cheek comment from Scotsman columnist, Hugh Reilly, last week that Christians believe that God is a ?cloud-dwelling Big Brother? is of course preposterous but makes meaningful dialogue on these important issues with those of us who disagree, so much more challenging.

It would be far preferable to have a proper debate about the issues involved and come to an understanding of each other?s positions.

As school pupils, parents and teachers are enjoying the summer break (and no doubt eagerly anticipating the new school term), it is maybe a good time to think about how much we appreciate all those involved in the education of our children and young people.

Faith in education has two main aspects ? representatives on education committees and religious observance in schools.

I know that the Church of Scotland representatives on local authority education committees are hard-working and dedicated people. They put in long hours and bring a breadth of experience and knowledge of community and educational life.

This breadth of ideas helps local authorities come to decisions after full consideration and discernment. In many cases they have a lifetime of experience in education in different areas. Our representatives have no agenda, no cause to undermine or ambition to manipulate the democratic process. They are motivated by love to care for the well-being of their community and to seek the common good. The participation of our representatives on local authority education committees is a way that we can help serve the whole of the community.

The representatives on education authorities use their position carefully to support the development of education in all its aspects. We believe it is of value to have a few individuals on the committee who have deep knowledge of the community but are not politicians. Their role complements the democratic process and their commitment is greatly valued by both council staff and elected councillors.

In many local authorities the representatives are so highly valued that Directors of Education give of their valuable time to discuss upcoming issues with the representatives before the meeting.

We expect the Church of Scotland representatives to work to the same code of conduct as elected councillors, and that they act and work to the very highest standards of integrity. I do not see it as a matter of privilege, but as an opportunity to serve the community.

The Church has formed part of the bedrock of Scottish community life for centuries, and the role on education committees recognises both the traditional role the churches had in establishing Scotland?s universal education system, one of the first anywhere in the world and the continuing role it plays in communities today.

It should also be noted that not all representatives are from the Christian faith. For many years one local authority had a Sikh as a representative and prior to that in the same local authority a Muslim was the representative.

Regular training is offered to the faith representatives to ensure that they carry out their duties to the highest possible standard.

The same is true for religious observance in schools which in the 21st century is not about religious indoctrination as many of us may have experienced in our own childhoods.

Things have changed dramatically in recent years, since the days of formalised school assemblies and hymn singing and prayers for all. We now encourage pupils to respect each other and their views and beliefs.

Working in partnership with Glasgow University, the Church of Scotland Standing Committee on Education has subsidised teachers and chaplains to undertake a master?s module in religious observance in order to ensure religious observance is delivered in a meaningful way for the whole school community to participate in.

These should be community acts that the whole school can participate in, and they needn?t be exclusive to one faith or tradition but should be a way for everyone to begin to explore deeper meaning in our world.

Everyone is invited to participate in religious observance and the aim is to ensure every pupil feels comfortable and able to express their views and opinions while respecting the views of others.

There will also be young people across Scotland who choose to study religion of their own volition. The grounding given in schools of all faiths can be the spark that directs them towards a qualification, a degree or even a career.

For children about to start their first days at school, this should be an exciting prospect. School is not just about the ?three Rs? but about learning about values and relationships.

Instead of the tired stramash between religious and anti-religious, today we have an opportunity to ask much bigger and much more important questions about what sort of Scotland we want in the future in the context of the independence referendum.

I hope that we can see a plural society where everyone?s views are respected, and that people?s contributions to public life are measured by the positive difference they make rather than by hostile accusations about why people get involved.

Secular atheists are alarmed about what they see as privilege and prestigious status which is bestowed on the Church. Far from having no significance in Scotland in the 21st century, the Church remains the largest organisation in the nation. We have a presence in every community, and we exist not for our own benefit but to serve one another and to share the story of the love of God.

It is in this understanding that I do see the role of religious representatives not as a privileged right, but rather a solemn duty, bestowed by the state in recognition of the place of the Church in the life of our nation today.

Chris Christie-Rand Paul tiff on foreign policy reflects deep rift in GOP

In Congress, the divide between Team Christie and a more libertarian Team Paul was on display in the debate over the Amash amendment that sought to de-fund the NSA surveillance program.

The foreign policy tussle between Chris Christie and Rand Paul, two likely 2016 Republican presidential contenders, marks the most public flaring of a long-simmering debate between the GOP?s long-time hawkish bent and the libertarian infusion the party has experienced in the last two election cycles.

When push comes to shove, do Republicans weigh in on the side of national security and foreign intervention or of privacy and greater international detachment? And which path will help grow a political party that even some of its leaders fear faces deep demographic challenges?

Of course, both Senator Paul (R) of Kentucky and New Jersey Governor Christie would argue their path does all those things ? they just strongly disagree about how to proceed.

?This strain of libertarianism that?s going through parties right now and making big headlines I think is a very dangerous thought,? Christie said on a panel in Aspen, Colo. on Thursday, according to the New York Times.

Later, he continued: ?The next attack that comes, that kills thousands of Americans as a result, people are going to be looking back on the people having this intellectual debate and wondering whether they put ?? before abruptly ending his thought.

In a Facebook post, Paul, who most famously launched an hours-long filibuster over domestic US drone use and who has pushed to cut off foreign aid to many restive Middle East nations, rejoined that ?Chris Christie thinks freedom is dangerous. What's dangerous is a foreign policy that borrows from China to pay people who burn our flag in Egypt.?

Paul?s political Facebook page was less restrained, calling Christie ?Obama?s favorite Republican? and wondering if the governor approves of sending weapons to ?al Qaeda allies? in Syria.

While the tiff is a spot of positioning between two presidential contenders at either end of a particular policy debate, it?s also an argument that reverberates deep down into the Republican Party.

In Congress, there?s a stark divide between Team Christie and Team Paul.

Rep. Peter King (R) of New York, a former chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and a veteran foreign policy hawk, said he ?isn?t saying no? to a potential presidential run in part because ?when I see people like Rand Paul talking about drones killing people out to get a cup of coffee, I don't want that to be the face of the national Republican Party," he told The Hill.

But the reason Congressman King, a 20-year House veteran, has found himself back in the congressional majority is because of a surge of more Paul-minded reinforcements like Rep. Raul Labrador (R) of Idaho. And those folks want more Rand, not less.

(AP Photo/Tony Dejak File)

(AP) ? Major League Baseball is investigating him, the Yankees are angry with him and Alex Rodriguez is miffed.

A-Rod's strained relationship with his team hit another low on Thursday when he kept pushing to be activated from the disabled list and New York kept pushing back. He wound up having a lawyer join in when the sides discussed how to rehabilitate his slightly injured leg.

Already a target of Major League Baseball's drug investigation, the third baseman angered the Yankees when he obtained a second medical opinion on his strained left quadriceps this week without informing the team in writing, a step required by the sport's collective bargaining agreement. The Yankees intend to discipline him, most likely with a fine.

"Do you trust the Yankees?" Rodriguez was asked Thursday during an interview on WFAN radio.

A-Rod's answer was telling.

"Um. You know, I'd rather not get into that," he responded. "I'm just frustrated that I'm not on the field tomorrow."

Sidelined since hip surgery in January, Rodriguez issued a statement saying he wanted to be activated for Friday's homestand opener against Tampa Bay. But that wasn't in the Yankees plans.

"We agreed that a protocol would be followed that is necessary when you return somebody from a quad injury," general manager Brian Cashman said during a conference call with the team's beat writers. "That protocol will include further treatment, which he'll continue tomorrow with some light conditioning, and then expand to more functional work from the 27th through the 31st. Our hope, as well as Alex's hope, without any setbacks or new complaints, that would put him in a situation to have either a simulated game or a rehab game on Aug. 1."

A-Rod went public with his disenchantment.

"Obviously I'm very, very disappointed," he said. "I know I can help my team. Obviously, I'm frustrated but I agreed to this five-day plan, and on we go."

He repeatedly said he told the Yankees he was ready to return.

"Tomorrow night would be the perfect night to come back and get in the lineup," he said.

Whether he gets back on a big league field any time soon or ever plays for the Yankees again remains to be seen.

MLB has been investigating Rodriguez as part of its probe of the closed Biogenesis clinic in Florida accused in media reports of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs. A suspension appears likely, but Rodriguez could ask the players' association to contest a drug penalty ? making it possible he might not have to serve any time until next year.

He is among the dozen or so players under investigation by MLB; he has said in the past that he used PEDs from 2001-03 while with Texas but maintained he has not used them since.

The Yankees intend to discipline A-Rod for seeking a second medical opinion without their permission, a person familiar with the team's deliberations said.

The exact penalty had not been determined, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because no statements were authorized. A fine appeared to be the most likely option.

Meantime, Rodriguez's return from hip surgery has created more drama than most players experience in their entire careers.

Seemingly days away from rejoining the Yankees, Rodriguez injured a leg last weekend and was sent to New York for an MRI on Sunday. Team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad diagnosed a grade 1 strain, the least severe level.

Dr. Michael Gross, the orthopedic director of The Sports Medicine Institute at Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center, was retained by Rodriguez and said on WFAN on Wednesday that he examined an MRI and could not detect an injury. Gross, who never examined Rodriguez personally, was reprimanded this year by New Jersey's board of medical examiners over steroid prescriptions, fined $30,000 and ordered to pay $10,000 in costs.

Rodriguez was re-examined Thursday by Dr. Daniel Murphy, the Yankees' orthopedic surgeon in Tampa, Fla., who confirmed Ahmad's diagnosis. Cashman said Murphy determined there was "clearly some improvement."

Yankees President Randy Levine and Cashman got on a 15-minute conference call with Tim Lentych, the head athletic trainer at the player development complex in Tampa; Rodriguez; and Jordan Siev, co-head of the U.S. commercial litigation group at Reed Smith, a law firm used by A-Rod pal Jay-Z.

"Just want to make sure that everything is documented properly," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez's statement infuriated Yankees management, which already had told him it determines his return schedule.

"I think the Yanks and I crossed signals," the three-time AL MVP said in the statement issued by spokesman Ron Berkowitz. "I don't want any more mix-ups. I'm excited and ready to play and help this team win a championship. I feel great and I'm ready and want to be in the lineup Friday night. Enough doctors, let's play."

Rodriguez, who turns 38 Saturday, earns $153,005 each day during the season, and while he remains on the disabled list much of the money is covered by insurance.

Rodriguez has hit .250 (8 for 40) with two homers and eight RBIs in 13 minor league games. About a week before he began the injury rehab assignment on July 2, Rodriguez tweeted that the surgeon who operated on his hip "gave me the best news - the green light to play games again!"

Cashman memorably responded: "Alex should just shut the ... up."

Rodriguez said he'd like to rehab with the major league team, as captain Derek Jeter is doing as he comes back from a quadriceps injury.

But the Yankees seem to regard A-Rod as toxic.

"Obviously, I'm an employee," he said. "I have to follow my bosses."

Legends launches iSculpt? | The Fitness Blogger Network

Legends Personal Trainer Leon Gabbidon has been developing this new innovative fitness technique for over 5 years. After studying a Masters degree at Leeds Met University, a successful basketball career, and winning his first international body building competition he has now developed and launched the iSculpt? concept.
?
iSculpt??is a training mechanism that allows your body to be pushed through progressive exercise techniques using bursts of High Intensity Interval Training combined with modelled body sculpting exercises. This puts your body in shock mode working compound muscle groups, with limited fatigue, gaining muscle definition, melting fat and improving performance in a fraction of the normal time.
?
The Birmingham born fitness guru is now based at Manchester city centre Soho gym, where he regularly trains an eclectic mix of clients, from corporate boot camp team building sessions, Olympic athletes, doctors, physiotherapists, to individual personal training for gym fanatics and other personal trainers looking to take their fitness regime to the next level.
The way the human body looks is a direct reflection of its diet, exercise and lifestyle. iSculpt? incorporates athletic training, with all the benefits of HIIT and implements them into bite size high intensity training. And provides a healthy eating plan to complement the demands of the training.
?
All candidates have different goals and training abilities which is why each individual is given a bespoke programme to achieve new movement patterns, and as a result their body is able to increase workload or volume. iSculpt? is a unique form of training that can be incorporated into everyday activities. The training is developed in cycles and each candidate will work differently to their peers.
?
It?s common for most people to fail when they reach a plateau that they can?t break through. The cause for this is known as ?the limiting factor?. iSculpt? pre-empts this limiting factor early and is designed to build gains more rapidly and push you through into the next cycle. This is when you start to see optimum results.
Leon says,

?Your body is the most sophisticated, efficient piece of equipment you will ever own! Its ability to react to new stimuli is incredible. The more you understand about anatomy and physiology, the more you will be in awe of what the human body can do.?

iSculpt? sessions are never the same, keeping the regime fun and functional. The wide variety of sets, repetitions, speeds, weights and resistance have made iSculpt? the final fitness concept the industry will need. Just 12 weeks using the iSculptTM method will physiologically change your body, shape and fitness levels for a lifetime.

Trendrr tracks Facebook TV chatter as Twitter expands its TV ad targeting

Trendrr

Trendrr has been analysing Facebook chatter around specific TV shows in the US

The television no longer has the undivided attention of a growing proportion of British viewers, judging by the 62% of UK internet users who say they use their smartphone or tablet while watching TV.

Many of those second-screeners are using social networks like Facebook and Twitter, with both companies keen to capitalise on the trend, and encourage broadcasters and brands to do more to engage audiences on the services.

Twitter bought social TV analytics startup Bluefin Labs earlier this year with that aim in mind, but now Facebook has worked with rival startup Trendrr to analyse TV-related chatter on its service.

Among the findings published on Trendrr's blog are the claim that "the volume of Facebook user engagement relating to television programming was 5 times as large as all other social networks combined" ? a clear shot across Twitter's bows.

The US-focused research claims that drama and comedy TV shows were particularly popular on Facebook, but live events saw "dramatically higher levels of activity over other social networks ? something that may be surprising for some marketers who view Facebook as a platform mostly for extended conversation".

Trendrr says it is planning to work on further research with Facebook, including possibly integrating its data into the startup's Social TV Rankings charts, and helping broadcasters and brands to measure the conversation around their shows and advertisements, and compare it to engagement elsewhere.

News of the Facebook/Trendrr partnership came as Twitter launched its TV ad targeting service in the US, following a two-month beta test.

The service aims to help brands synchronise their paid-for "promoted" tweets with ads airing on TV, including targeting those tweets at people who've been tweeting about the show during which they aired, and who thus will be likely to have seen the ad.

Twitter TV Ads dashboard Twitter's TV Ads dashboard now has more analytics for brands

"The results of the beta test reveal that the impact of using Twitter in combination with TV advertising is significantly greater than that of using TV advertising alone," claimed Bluefin Labs founder Michael Fleischman, now working at Twitter in a product role.

"In our tests over the last few months with brands like Adidas, Holiday Inn Express, Jaguar, and Samsung, advertisers using TV ad targeting saw significant improvements to key brand metrics, such as message association and purchase intent."

Twitter is also launching a new set of analytics in its TV Ads dashboard for brands, helping them to examine in greater depth what Twitter users are saying about their advertisements.

Both Facebook and Twitter have been heavily courting the TV and advertising industries in recent years, pitching the merits of their platforms.

For example, in April at the MIPTV conference, Twitter's UK head of broadcast partnerships Dan Biddle claimed that "40% of tweets in the UK during peak-time television hours are about television", and advised broadcasters to "think about programming Twitter as you programme your channel."
